See yourself from a different angle – we’ve arranged for acclaimed local drone potographer Steve Samosa to shoot the race from the sky. Weather permitting, we’ll get some great shots. All the photos we take will again be free to the runners.

This year’s Medal design

The parkland now surrounding the Dream statue was previously the site of the Sutton Manor colliery. The site was first mined in 1906 and finally closed in 1991, with the site flattened 25 years ago.

To mark that event this year’s medal design takes it’s inspiration from the badge of the Sutton Manor branch.

Race Sponsorship

We are delighted to announce that Paramount digital have joined us as a race sponsor.

Entries open

St Helens Sutton AC is pleased to announce that entries to the 2017 Dream Trail Race are now open.

We will be using the same course as last year and have taken into account feedback received after the event. One change this year is a restriction in the number of entries we will accept, we are aiming to keep this a small freindly race. Entries to the races are strictly limited, and this year we are rewarding our early bird entrants with a 2 discount making this a really affordable race.

Event licence confirmed

St Helens Sutton AC is pleased to announce that the 2017 Dream Trail Race will be held on Sunday 27th August at Dream, Sutton Manor, St Helens.

The 2017 race is UKA Licensed (2017-27165) so participants registered with England Athletics can enjoy an entry fee discount, there’s also an early bird discount, again keep an eye out on when entries are opened.

2015 Dream Trail Race – Race Day Information

Dream Trail gets promoted at Sefton Park 5 Mile

Guy Roberts and the team at Mossley Hill AC kindly offered to include our new Back to School flyer in the goody bags for the Sefton Park 5 Mile race on Wednesday 22nd July. The race is one of the most popular on the North West calendar and is Sold Out to 500 runners so we hope to tempt some of them over to Dream for a Trail experience in August.

2015 Race Theme

The 2015 Race Theme will be launched on Friday 17th July at 8pm. Please watch our Facebook and Twitter Feeds for more news!

Busy Busy!

Lots of work done on the 2015 race this week..

As you probably know, The Smithy Manor (our past base) has closed so we found ourselves homeless. I am pleased to announce that we have booked The Shining Lights Centre approx 500m from the start line in it’s place. We are now able to offer registrations, changing, showers and toilets at the new site.

We have also booked a couple of caterers for up at Dream with more to follow. Confirmed so far are Little Espresso Co and Mr Softy.

We are also pleased to announce a new partnership with The Clock Face Hotel who are helping us to run two FREE Social runs on Wednesday 8th July and Wednesday 19th August. We will be setting off from the hotel for a 5km steady run around Dream and then returning for a BBQ and Drinks. All abilities are most welcome!

So far on the sponsorship front, we have announced partnerships with Run Geek, our local superb running specialists, Kiera’s Occasions and Zsa Zsa Flowers who are sponsoring some of the prizes. This week we added Sweat Fitness to the lineup with Ste and Paul kindly donating two training prizes worth £120 each for the number draw. If you know of any local business who would like some PR then please put them in touch with us.

The final design for the 2015 theme will be with us soon. Look out for the grand unveiling and a chance to buy this year’s unique race wear.

2015 Entries

Entries for the 2015 race are now OPEN!!

We have tried to keep the Entry Fee low again and will shortly be announcing details of how you can buy our specially designed T-Shirts and Hoodies.

Race Photos

The official race photos have now been loaded onto FlickR Thanks to Sam BB Photography for giving her time and expertise completely freely. Please feel free to download any photos.

Dave Pinnington also took a lot which can be found here and here. Thanks Dave!

That’s over 2,000 FREE photos for you to choose from. Have fun!

Post Race Survey & Review

We asked race participants to complete a short satisfaction survey and completed a post race review to identify what worked well and what could be improved in any future event.

In the interests of openness and transparency we are pleased to make the report available so that respondents can see that we took their points on board and will consider them in 2015. Post-Event-Review-2014

Race Day Information

All registered runners should have received their Race Information Packs. If you haven’t please check your spam filter in the first instance and if it isn’t there, please email info@dreamtrailrace.org.uk with details of your registration email from the Run Britain entry system.

Since sending out the information packs we have had confirmation from Village News, opposite the main car park, that they will open especially on Sunday to provide drinks (hot & cold) and also food for spectators.

Last minute entries

Registration closed last weekend but we are still able to take a small number of late entries via email and cash on the day. Please email us for details.

Entries for the mini trail (6-11yrs old) can be done for £4.00 on race day at The Smithy Manor.

Latest Course News

We are up at the park tomorrow checking out the course and doing any last minute grass cutting with the Forestry Commission.

Earlier in the week we decided to tweak the 4k and 5m courses as the proposed trail was much more overgrown than in 2012 when we last used the site. As a result runners would have found themselves in quite a narrow section within 200m of starting the race. To avoid any incidents and bottlenecks the new routes mean that runners go up the main Dream path straight away. It’s a bit of a rude awakening but look on the bright side, what goes up must come down again!

Here are the latest course maps.

Social Run & Taster Event

On Wednesday 20th August around 120 runners took part in a Social Run to get acquainted with the course. Most opted for one 5km loop but a hardy few reversed to complete 10km. Following the run our friends from Run Geek were hard at work on the BBQ and most people stayed for a drink at the Smithy Manor. Ten lucky winners were drawn out and win Dream Trail T-Shirts and Will Charles was drawn as the winner of the Trail Shoes in the Early Bird Prize Draw. Congratulations and thanks to everyone for supporting the event.

Trail Race Clothing Range Launched

Run Geek in Warrington will be supplying the 2014 Dream Trail Clothing Range.

High Quality Technical T-Shirts and Hoodies in a number of colours can be ordered from their web site and collected along with your numbers on Race Day.

4a1f6b0090c5

To order these great mementos please visit their Web Site or call in at the Shop. Tees cost £12.95 and Hoodies £24.95.

Fabrilly Clothing Range Cancelled

Unfortunately, the clothing “campaign” that we started with Fabrilly didn’t work out. We found out that they wouldn’t ship anyone’s clothes if we missed our minimum order target.

We didn’t want to disappoint people who had ordered and potentially find ourselves in a position where nobody could get a race memento so we decided to cancel our arrangement and seek an alternative. Lesson Learnt!: If something looks too good to be true………

If you did order from Fabrilly, please don’t worry, no payment has been taken. Look out for more news soon regarding a new partnership!!

We’re Licensed!!

For 2014 we are pleased to announce that the Dream Trail Race is now UKA Licensed. The main race will be run according to UKA Rules and we are now able to provide an entry discount to EA Registered Athletes. If you need more information about becoming EA Registered please speak to your Club Membership Secretary or visit: ENGLAND ATHLETICS

Latest Sponsorship News

We are pleased to announce that Run Geek have agreed to provide some of the prizes for this year’s race. Sam and the team at Run Geek have had a great year since opening their Warrington store and have become great supporters of the local running scene. Big thank you to them for stepping up and supporting us. Please visit their store next time you need some running gear.

2014 Objectives & Pricing Policy.

For 2014 the focus is very much on participation. We want to encourage as many runners as possible to try Trail Running and for that reason we have altered our strategy a little. We have deliberately kept the price as low as possible by building it from the ground up. There are some costs that we just can’t avoid such as Forestry Commission charges and St John’s cover. For 2014 we have decided to go for a really nice and unique medal, drinks and a snack for finishers and forgo the Goody Bags.  By doing this we are able to bring the Entry down from £15.00 to £10.50 for non EA registered runners and £8.50 if you are registered. We hope you approve of these changes but welcome your feedback.

Race Logos

The fantastic new race logos were designed for us by a young local artist called Scott Pilkington. We intend to use these on all race literature and for the bespoke medals but we also hope to launch our own range of race clothing so that participants can commemorate (brag) about their exploits post race. Please visit Scott’s Facebook Page.
